Dreams re:MADE Start•Up

We have a passion to see people thrive and be successful - but sometimes that doesn't look like a normal 9 to 5 job.  We work with and coach individuals who might have unique situations that make it hard to get, keep or have a standard job due to health issues, childcare, criminal past, lack of work experience, disability, etc.  We work with them to discover their talents, discern what might work best for them, delve into creating their own solutions.

Anchorage re:MADE

Anchorage re:MADE is a group of over 40 creative artist and individuals who have a passion to repurpose, resell and help renew lives.  We currently own an 11,000 sq. foot building with  retail space, training rooms, two offices, a woodshop, a café and a commercial kitchen.  Our team is 100% volunteer,  self-funded or contract labor with grants.

We rescue usable goods from the landfill every Tuesday and Saturday through our partnership with the Municipality of Anchorage, Solid Waste Services.  

What is unique about re:MADE is that because we have a retail store, we have a market to sell the usable products rescued.  In this process we not only change the environment, but also utilize the opportunity to be creative in a fun environment.  This has become a way to mentor people making changes in their lives, with disabilities, or just giving a hand-up rather than a hand-out.   

We offer classes in: drawing, watercolor painting, chair and sign painting, how to repurpose clothing, knitting, making cupboard door coat racks and cooking. We love to see people changing their habits from consuming to repurposing and reselling while renewing lives as we are Doing Life. Better Together.

People love our store that is full of old jeans made into aprons, foot stools, stuffed animals, jewelry, rugs. Old diesel parts, globes, colanders and toys made into lamps. Pallets used for a new top on a glass top (that was broken) coffee table. Broken jewelry repurposed. Sweaters turned into pillows.  Totes made out of men's shirts (inside lining with pockets) and upholstery samples.

Anchorage re:MADE is a creative and thriving hub of positive interactions and mutual learning in a fun environment.  Creativity breeds creativity and amazing things happen when you have volunteers working together.​
